Chef Lauren Williams, an entrepreneurial-minded individual who is highly skilled in all things culinary and restaurant management related. Through his years in the culinary and hospitality industry, he has developed an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the industry and its market dynamics. His highly organized managerial style emphasizes customer relation skills and results-oriented problem solving, which is so necessary in the restaurant industry.
Chef Lauren is a DC native who found his passion for cooking in his grandmother’s kitchen. Growing up on Capitol Hill, if he wasn’t playing with his brother and friends in the neighborhood, then he was in the kitchen learning.
And from there a gift was born!
Chef Lauren attended Liberty University where he played football and majored in communications. Upon graduating, he went on to play professional football in the NFL. He signed with the Oakland Raiders and was allocated by the Raiders in 2007 to play in the NFL Europa league for the Rhein Fire. However, after an extremely short career, he went back to his passion for food.
Williams began his culinary career at a contract catering company where he worked in General Management before entering the restaurant scene. There, he gained outstanding hands-on culinary industry experience and expertise. He has managed both the front and back of the house for a Dolce Group Restaurant and was the Production Chef & Senior Executive Chef for Compass Group USA, where he managed a staff of approximately 400 to ensure the efficient production and delivery of an average of 25,000 meals a day to about 96 sites throughout D.C.
Over the years, Chef Lauren’s passion has shined through his work but even more so on every plate he’s touched. His true loves are food and the art of servicing others. Chef Lauren has had many high profile clientele. He’s worked with recording artist Lil’ Wayne. He was the Private Chef to the Ambassador, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Washington, DC. He provided service to his family and estate staff for his private home. Chef Lauren’s responsibilities included overseeing a team of chefs who work for him at the private home. Chef Lauren’s exceptional culinary skills also led him to become the Personal Chef to Washington Wizards players such as John Wall and CJ Miles. He’s worked with many more celebrities alike. He has also been a contestant on Food Network’s reality show Cut Throat Kitchen. He was on FYI’s Cook vs. Masters, which is streaming on Hulu. He was also a recent contestant on Netflix’s original show, Cooked with Cannabis.
